I got this book because I had watched Gone Girl some years back and wanted to read something from the same author as I really enjoyed that movie. This book was the author's first breakthrough project so I decided to pick it up.

A lot of self-harm is referenced in this book. I was hoping to learn more about the mind of someone who struggles with this but don't think I got that. Most of the time you just have to accept that the character is like this at face value without ever getting the reason as to WHY it could be. Maybe I missed it.

The story itself felt suspenseful at times. The ending was very similar to the movie Run that I watched a while back.

The twist at the VERY VERY end was a nice surprise.
