I had heard about this book for a while but just delayed reading as I wasn’t too interested in hearing about time management techniques.
Surprisingly this book isn’t really about time management tips and tricks.
The author never tells you about some cool framework you should follow that fixes everything. Nor does he ever give any practical tips and tricks about time management.
The core thing he tries to make the reader is understand this. In the modern day we all have a growing list of things we want to experience, participate in and tick off in our life. You will never be able to do everything life has to offer. Instead of stressing about the stuff you are missing out on, try to accept that fact and immerse yourself in the present.
Be content with pursuing what you are doing at present instead of worrying about the stuff you are missing out on by spending your time doing what you’re currently doing.
Becoming more efficient and accomplishing more in a given day cannot give you true fulfillment. Because by doing that you are telling yourself that doing MORE is what brings you happiness. And that mindset always ends up creating a void within you.
Be more present.
That’s what I got from this book.
