I’m conflicted about what my thoughts are on this book.
Picked it up because I saw it won a bunch of prizes. The opening chapters made me feel a bit uncomfortable. But that’s fine. I think that was intentional.
Everything about this book that I don’t like feels intentional by the Author so I guess this book just isn’t for me. The dialogue is extremely minimal. A lot of the conversations just follows this pattern.
“yeah?” “yeah” “okay” “okay”
I could not really connect with any of the characters. Especially Istvàn.
The story itself is interesting though and it flows pretty well.
I was never bored reading this book. I just don’t think I got much out of it.
Worth a read regardless.
