I have not seen a single Jimmy Carr show. Ever. I knew about him sure and had seen some clips here and there but never a full show.
So why did I pick up this book? Simply because he’s a comic. I feel like any successful comic must have an interesting story to share of how they got there.
This book is so much more than a memoir. I was not expecting it to have as much of an impact on me as it did. It’s filled with so much self-help and guidance for life. Jimmy’s comedy is known for having a lot of one liners in as little time as possible. At times he’s doing that but instead of jokes it’s life advice. I loved it.
Jimmy can write. I shouldn’t be surprised about. He’s a comic. They’re pretty good with words. It’s a breeze to read.
His story of course is inspiring. Pursuing being a comic even after going to Cambridge and having a stable career.
Everything about this book is just. So. Good!
